from Germany and been a car enthusiast since I was a kid. I was all about Lotus and that pure analog driving experience when i was growing up. The rise of EVs, shifted my perspective. I love the tech and sustainability the new EVs bring to the table.
I’m driving a VW Golf Diesel because I’ve needed something practical for long distances. To start my transition to electric, I ordered a base Tesla Model 3 earlier this year. It’s a great car, but I can’t help feeling like it’s a stopgap solution. Especially with all the buzz about the 4680 batteries coming out soon, I’m already dreading the potential hit to resale value.
That’s one of the reasons I find NIO so fascinating. The BaaS (Battery as a Service) model is such a game-changer. The idea of swapping out for a newer battery as technology evolves? It’s brilliant, and it eliminates so much of the uncertainty that comes with EV ownership.
I’ve been keeping a close eye on the ET5 and can’t wait to see how it performs once it’s widely available. Honestly, though, an ET4 would suit my needs even better if NIO decides to go that route.
I’ve also been following Lotus’s move into the electric space, but their new models are sadly out of my price range. For now, I’ll enjoy my Model 3 and keep dreaming of that ET5, or maybe even an ET4 in the future. Anyone waiting for their perfect EV to hit the market?
